I have been interested in art all my life. I have been a stained glass artist, a fabric artist, and have drawn and sketched for many years. I very much love living near the ocean, where I work from my loft studio in Gleneden Beach, Oregon.
I began working in pastels in 2008. I am a self-taught artist, inspired by the local marine life. I enjoy visiting the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Hatfield Marine Science Center. Rockfish and salmon are two of my favorite subjects. Walking in the country and on the beach inspires others subjects for my art.
I am fascinated with early Native American petroglyphs, rock drawings that depict events, spirits, etc. These are done on rock-textured papers.
I am pleased to be a member of Pacific Artist Alliance and the Artist Studio Association in Lincoln City. The Artist Co-op is a great opportunity to work with other artists in a cooperative setting to create value for our patrons.
I continue to develop in the art of pastel painting, and hope to inspire appreciation for the wildlife of the Pacific Northwest.
