Tim Power creates his metal sculptures by hammering sheets of copper into large, carved wooden molds. Moire’ patterning makes his work very unique. It creates an optical illusion that makes the piece move, when you move. Some pieces are patinaed, some are natural copper, and some are powder coated. Subjects include salmon, rockfish, cabezon, sail fish, pompano, flounder, crab and lobsters.
Tim creates fanciful wire sculpture made from one piece of crab pot wire, whimsically named “Fishioki, Jammin’ Salmon, and Fly Fishing.”
He has lived in the Lincoln City area for thirty years. Tim’s studio is a 1920’s schoolhouse on a creek in the country.
Tim is one of the most popular artists on
OPB’s Artbeat program, having been
shown several times. His large, (5 foot),
salmon piece, “Ponderosa”, decorates
the set.
Tim has many collectors from all over
the world. His art enlivens Terry’s
Schumacher’s Octopus’ Garden Secret
Garden in Lincoln Beach with over
thirty-five different sculptures.
Currently Tim is the President of Pacific
Artist’s Alliance, a Lincoln City artist’s
co-operative.
